[Hidden image]Last weekend the 7th grade Purple volleyball team finished second in their tournament at Bear Branch Junior High. The team played York Junior High and Bear Branch Junior High for their first two matches and pulled out two close wins. Coach Pavloske said that the girls fought all the way until the end and never gave up. This is a very competitive team full of heart and hustle. The Purple team played McCullough Junior High in the championship game and lost, but once again fought for every point. We are very proud of this team and look forward to a great rest of the season!
Last night the 7th grade Lady Bears traveled to Brabham. The White team started the night off winning their first game 25-19. The ladies fought hard and played tough but ultimately lost the next two games by one point. The Purple team built on their previous success to win 25-12 and 25-22. The played great defense and hustled every play. To finish the night, the Gold team brought home a win: 25-10 and 25-7. The ladies had powerful serves, blocks, and spikes. Coach Sturdivant, Wallace, and Pav are so proud of each team. What a great way to start the season!

MJH 8th grade Lady Bears Volleyball
The 8th grade Lady Bears Purple team traveled to the Bear Branch Tournament Saturday.  The Lady Bears faced York JH first beating them in two games. The Lady Bears lost the first game but came back to win the next two with ease clinching their spot in the Championship game.  The girls fought hard against McCullough but unfortunately fell short against the Lady Highlanders.
The Lady Bears did such an amazing job all day and received 2nd place in their first tournament together! The girls showed outstanding teamwork and drive throughout the long, exhausting day. Every single member of the team gave 110% out on the court. Coach Heard is so proud of the entire team and can't wait to see what this season has in store for the 8th grade Purple team. Way to go Lady Bears!
Yesterday the 8th grade Lady Bears volleyball traveled to Brabham to face the Lady Bobcats.

MJH E-News August 21, 2015

Welcome back! Whether you are new to MISD or a returning parent, we thank you for making the decision to join the Montgomery Junior High Parent Teacher Organization. We are looking forward to a great year. Our children may be older, but there are still many ways to get involved at MJH!  Our first PTO meeting will be held Thursday on September 10th at 8:45 am. I hope to see many of you there, as it’s a great way to become involved and network with other parents. Feel free to bring a friend! Everyone is welcome.

This year, we will be utilizing a program called Signup Genius to recruit volunteers for events on campus. When volunteer opportunities arise, a link to the event will be sent out and you can sign up from the convenience of your own home. The best part is that reminders are sent out and it’s easy to make a change if needed. Please be looking for volunteer opportunities between now and the first PTO meeting! We will need volunteers on the first morning of school!
Thank you again for being a part of the PTO. Feel free to contact me if you have any questions on how to become more involved! You can email me at mjhptomailbox@gmail.com .
I would love to hear from you!  I look forward to working with you this year in order to make this year very successful for our PTO and MJH!!
Have a great year!
Stephanie Hood, PTO President
