NEON NIGHTS DANCE - PTO Fundraiser

***PTO Dance Committee Member Meeting on Monday, 10/26 at 8:45am***

• Friday, October 30th 6:30pm-8:30pm 
• Tickets $5 each sold during lunches
• School dress code required
• Neon/glow-in-the-dark fluid items WILL NOT BE ALLOWED.  LED only.
• Available to purchase at the dance: Pizza - $2 ~     Candy .50 to $1 ~ Soft Drinks $1 ~ Neon Souvenirs $1 to $5 ~ Photo Booth Pictures $5

On Thursday, the MJH Cross Country Teams competed at the District Championships hosted by Montgomery Junior High.  The results are:

7th Grade Girls - 5th Place

7th Grade Boys - 4th Place

8th Grade Girls - 2nd Place

8th Grade Boys - 1st Place

MJH Athletes that received medals for the superior performances are: Sam Matchett, Cory Acreman, Austin Parker, Ashley Miller, Anna Denbigh, John Spikerman, Jacob Falb, Rays Whitmore, Mia Degitz, Hailea Poff, Karla Balli, Hannah Parker, Nikki Brousard, J.T. Johnston, Cassie Lewis, Kate Hilty, Wesley Spell, Logan Olivero, Zach Russell and Kaylee Galindo.  Congratulations from Coach Jones, Inman and Holcomb on a fantastic season!  Go Bears!

The Montgomery Bears 7th grade Purple and Gold teams faced off in a epic show down last night.  The "B" teams fought hard all night in a defensive battle with only one touchdown being scored.  The Gold team won 6 to 0.  The "A" teams were up next and both teams played hard.  Once again, it was a defensive battle with only one touchdown being the difference.  The gold team won 13 to 6.  The coaches appreciate your hard work and determination.  Great job and good luck next week!

The 7th grade lady bear volleyball team traveled to Magnolia last night. The Bears brought home a clean sweep of 3 wins! The white team started the night winning 25-14 and 28-26. Players of the game: KK Morris and Sheridan Bautista. 
The purple team went to three games with the scores of 16-25, 25-14, and 15-5! Players of the game: Mackenzie Logeman and Jenny Robinson.  The gold team finished off the night winning 25-18 and 25-23. Players of the game: Madison Chappell and Demi Krikorian. Our last season game is next Thursday at 4, 5, and 6 o clock here at the junior high! Coach Sturdivant, Pav, and Wallace are so proud of how much each of you have improved as players this season! Keep up the hard work! 

8th Grade Lady Bears Volleyball.  The White team started the winning sweep with the scores of 26-24 and 25-15. Outstanding players were Nicole Moore, Marisa Raley, and Ellie Hadley.
Purple team kept the winning streak rolling keeping the Lady Mustangs in the single digits with the scores of 25-9 and 25-8. Outstanding players were Meagan Pistone and Bailey Ellis.
Gold team ended the sweep with the impressive score of 25-6 and 25-17. Outstanding players were Jena McMullen and Ainsley Ingebrigsten.
Way to go Lady Bears! The girls did an unbelievable job and Coach Inman, Heard, and Reynolds are very proud of every single player. Come support the Lady Bears next week at home for their last game of the season. Games times are 4, 5, and 6.

MJH Bear News

The last race before the District Championships, the MJH Cross Country Teams traveled to Magnolia last  Friday night.  The 7th grade girls finished in 9th place, the 7th grade boys came in 6th place, the 8th girls finished in 3rd place and  the 8th grade boys finished in 2nd place.  Congratulations to the runners from Coaches Jones, Inman and Holcomb.

8th Grade 8th grade Lady Bears volleyball traveled to Willow Wood last Thursday and swept the Lady Wildcats.  Purple team lost the first game but came back to win the next two with the scores of 17-25, 25-23, and 26-24. Outstanding players were Mikenna Bageard and Ella Leman/  Gold team went to three games and pulled out a win with the scores of 25-14, 16-25, and 25-22. Outstanding players were Ainsley Ingerbrigsten and Darriane Keeler.  Gold team also had a tournament in Bryan this Saturday. There were 16 teams in the tournament and the girls placed 5th, overall. Every girl stepped up to the challenge and played with tremendous heart.  

8th grade Lady Bears faced Schultz last night at home.  Purple team crushed the Lady Bulldogs in two games with the scores of 25-8 and 25-11. Outstanding players were Hailee Bell, Reagan Davis, and Autumn Friedrich.Gold team annihilated Schultz with the scores 25-6 and 25-15. Outstanding players were Ally Williams, Bailey Duncan, and Allie Yeager.   We want to thank all the teachers that came out to support the Lady Bears for Teacher Appreciation night. The girls really enjoyed having you there and are so thankful to have such amazing, loving teachers here at MJH. Go Lady Bears!

7th Grade Last Thursday the 7th grade lady bears PURPLE and GOLD teams traveled to Willow Wood. The purple team opened the night strong winning 25-23 and 25-14. The gold team brought home the second win of the night, 25-14 and 25-18. Great job bears!

Last Saturday the 7th grade GOLD team played in the Lady Raider Invitational Tournament in Bryan. The first match of the day was against Anderson-Shiro. Due to an injury, Demi Krikorian stepped up to be our setter and led us to a victory! The second match of the morning was against Franklin, where the lady bears won to bring us our second "W". In the semi-final match against Rayburn, the girls started and finished strong to win our way into the championship. The fourth and final match of the day the Bears played College Station Middle School. The girls played with great heart and skill to bring home the first place title!! Way to go Lady Bears!! First out of 16 teams!!!! Outstanding players of the tournament: Skyla Roth and Sarah Schafer

Thursday night the 7th grade Lady Bear Purple and Gold Volleyball teams swept Schultz Junior High.  The Purple team came out and quickly made a statement about how the rest of the evening would go for bulldogs.  Behind the dominate serving of  Reagan Wells   and   Mackenzie Logeman, purple team won in 2:  25 - 3 and 25-6.
It was the same story for the Gold team.  Behind the strong serving of Demi Krikorian and Sarah Schafer and a stout defense, the bulldogs didn't stand a chance, being downed in 2: 25-9 and 25-7.
Great job last night ladies and good luck next week against Magnolia JH!


The Montgomery Bears 7th grade Gold football teams hosted the Bear Branch Bears yesterday evening.  The "B" team played aggressive all game and played hard until the final whistle blew.  The Bears recovered a fumble in the end zone to tie the game up with less than a minute left and punched in the extra point to go ahead winning 13 to 12.  The "A" team played after and played a tough game.  The Bears went back and forth scoring on several kick off returns.  Bear Branch scored late in the game and Montgomery ultimately ran out of time losing 34 to 38.  The Montgomery Bears 7th grade football teams will face-off against each other next Monday.  Good luck next week and come out and support your Bears!!!

Last Friday, the Cross Country Team traveled to Willis to complete in the "Jr. Kat Invitational".  Our of the 12 schools competing, MJH came in 3rd place for the Boys and 4th place for the Girls.  Those receiving medals for outstanding performances are Rhys Whitmore, J.T. Johnston, and Anna Denbigh.  Congratulations from Coach Jones, Inman and Holcomb.

8th Grade Lady Bears Volleyball
8th grade Purple team played at MJH for their last tournament of the season.First game the girls played Willow Wood winning in two games 25-20 and 25-16.Next the girls went right into their match against McCullough. The girls fought hard and came so close to winning with the scores of 17-25 and 25-27.
Last they faced New Caney winning 25-10 and 25-11.
The girls got 2nd place and showed so much heart and teamwork the entire tournament. Coach Heard is extremely proud of all of you. Way to go Lady Bears!

7th Grade Lady Bears Volleyball
This weekend the 7th grade Purple volleyball team received second place in their tournament here at Montgomery Junior High. The team beat Willow Wood in a close match that went to 3 games. The girls battled back and forth with this team and eventually came out on top. The girls then lost to McCullough, but played very well against them. The last match of the tournament was against Caney Creek and once again the Lady Bears came out on top winning in 2 games. The coaches are very proud of the way the girls played this weekend. Once again they proved that they are a team full of heart, competitiveness, and hustle. Way to go Lady Bears!

7th Grade Football
The 7th grade Gold Football teams hosted the Lynn Lucas Linx yesterday afternoon.  The Gold "B" team set the tone early in the first game intercepting the first pass of the game and ran it back for a touchdown.  The Bears played solid on defense and kept the Linx at bay ultimately winning 19 to 7.  The "A" team came out firing on all cylinders.  The Bears defense kept pressure on Lynn Lucas and didn't allow them to sniff the endzone, while the offense held the gas pedal down.  The Bears scored at will and won 32 to 0.  Great job Bears.  The Gold teams will host the Tomball Courgars next week, so come out and support your Bears.

The Dance Committee is working on finalizing the dance details.  We are looking for donations for the following items: neon paint, glow in the dark paint, lights, glow in the dark tape.  If you have any of these items you would like to donate or would like to donate time decorating, please contact Angela Downs at danzermom3@gmail.com.
