At the meeting we discussed our first big fundraiser, the FALL DANCE on Friday, October 14th from 6-8:00 pm, for 7th and 8th grade students.  Parents are needed and encouraged to signup to help with this fun event! If you would like to help, please email the dance chairperson, Marcy Perdue, at cella_e@yahoo.com or watch for PTO E-Blasts with opportunities to signup.  We will be hosting a drink drive to support the dance concessions and we would really appreciate your donations of drinks from Oct 3 - Oct 13 in the car rider line or at the school office.  Tickets will be sold at lunch periods beginning Oct 11th and there will be decorating workdays on Oct 3rd, 4th and 6th right after drop-off...watch for more information to come!

Also discussed were opportunities to help with our other fundraiser, Spiritwear Sales!  If you are interested in helping with the sale of Spiritwear at any of the MJH sporting events or school functions, please watch for signups that will be distributed by the PTO Volunteer Coordinators!  Don't forget to purchase your school spirit gear and support our PTO!

Our Box Tops Coordinator, Jennifer LeBlanc, discussed some awesome opportunities for our students and staff to get excited about box tops collection this year!  Watch for news on contests going on this year to help raise money for our campus.  With the 20th anniversary of the Box Tops program, HEB, Sams Club and Walmart are offering special promotions so please save those BOX TOPS!!

These and many other activities such as Veteran's Day, Hospitality and Teacher Birthdays, and Copy Room Volunteers will be discussed at our next meeting, so don't miss out!  We would love to see you then!

MJH Bears Football
The 7th grade gold A team traveled to Waller last night to play the Mustangs of Magnolia for the district championship.  The Bears played great on offense and took a while to get adjusted defensively.  The score was 17 to 14 at half time and the Bears blew the game wide open the second half scoring at will and shutting down the Mustang offense.  The Bears left with the 44 to 14 victory and the District Championship!  Great job Bears!!!
The 7th Grade Gold "B" team traveled to Tomball yesterday to compete against the Wolves of Willow Wood.  The Bears played tough on defensive, but weren't able to move the ball against the relentless Wolf defense.  The Bears ultimately lost 12 to 0.  The Gold "B" team finished the season with 4 wins and 3 losses and finished 4th in district.  Thanks again for your hard work and dedication.
The 7th Grade Purple "B" team played Waller last night.  On the opening drive the team marched down the field for a touchdown then converted the extra point.  Waller came back with a touchdown of their own only to have their extra point blocked.  After that, it was an exciting defensive battle.  Neither team scored again.  At the end of the game the Bears won with class.  With a chance to score again from the 2 yard line, the Quarterback took a knee to run out the clock.  We are proud of the way the boys played.  Way to win with character and style Bears!

This solidified their amazing, undefeated season!  Purple team wanted to end the season with a championship title and got it! The girls won with the scores of 25-7 and 25-18. The coaches could not have asked for a better end to the season. The girls showed heart and teamwork every single day. Coach Inman, Heard, and Reynolds are so proud of every single girl and what they have accomplished this year. Way to go Lady Bears!
