MJH Announcements

-MJH School Nurse, Ms. Lindquist has requested you bring or send your students shot records to school.  If you have any questions, please contact Ms. Lindquist.

-Cross Country Parent Meeting will be held Tuesday, September 2nd at 6:00pm in the BIG GYM.  All parents of Cross Country students are encouraged to attend. Coach Jones.

-National Junior Honor Society will have their 1st meeting Tuesday, September 2 at 645am in P5 (portable 5).

-School Holiday Monday, September 1. Return to school on Tuesday, September 2.

A few notes from the MJH Football Meeting on August 26, with Coach Washington and Staff.  If you have any questions, please email Coach Washington at swashington@misd.org.

 

 

-All Physicals MUST be turned in by Friday 8/29

-Football practice this week Monday 8/26 thru Thursday 8/28 -235pm-430pm

-Football practice next week Tuesday 9/2 thru Friday 9/5 - 235pm-430pm

-Coaches ask that parents use the Car Rider Pick line to pickup your son (after practice and games).  And, please pick up your son at 430pm. 

 

Medical Notes

Notes must be from a Physician stating your son is unable to play football. Notes from parents will not be accepted.

 

Equipment

-Football cleats need to be black

-Game day socks need to be ankle length either black or white (no knee high socks)
-8th grade will wear purple pants on game day
-7th grade will wear white pants on game day

 

Game Day

-Please send an afternoon snack with your son the morning of game day.  Coaches ask that we not bring the snack up to the office the day of the game.  A refrigerator will be provided.

-Alternate Transportation Letter.  All boys will ride the MISD school bus to the game.  If you will be taking your son home (AWAY GAME ONLY) after the game (your son will not return to the school), please complete an Alternate Transportation Letter.  The letter must be turned in 24 hours prior to the game.  http://schools.misd.org/users/0008/docs/AlternateStudentTravel.pdf  Your son will bring his school bag, binder, etc. with him on the bus.  He must return all football equipment and jersey to school the next day.  ALL BOYS will ride the bus to home games each way, no alternate transportation will be allowed.
-Game day itineraries will be given to each boy the day before game day.  Each Friday, a game day itinerary will be sent via E-News.

 

Inclement Weather

Notification of a practice cancellation or game cancellation will be determined by 1pm, the day of the event.

Welcome back Teachers

MJH Staff would like to express their thanks to our wonderful PTO parents who provided the staff with such a fabulous breakfast this morning. We all feel so welcomed and loved and it impressed all of our new staff, especially! What a great way to start off our new year with something that we love best....FOOD!

 

School Supplies

Pre packaged school supplies are available for $45.00 and can be purchased at the front office. The students are welcome to purchase them the first day of school and take them directly to their locker.

Football Equipment Issue - Thursday, August 21

All 7th & 8th grade football players will be issued their football equipment in the gym at MJH on Thursday, August 21. 

• 8th grade: 5:00-7:00pm
• 7th grade: 7:00-9:00pm

Please remember that all junior high athletes are required to have a current physical on file before they can participate in any school sponsored UIL sport or be issued any school equipment. If you have any questions, please contact Coach Washington at 936-689-8907 or 936-582-7088 or email at swashington@misd.org.

Car Rider Loop

​The first bell rings at 7:15 am and school dismisses at 2:35. All traffic coming to MJH during the morning drop-off and afternoon pick-up must use the Car Rider Loop. Please plan your time accordingly. Students may be dropped off beginning at 6:45am. 

Football Parent Meeting - Tuesday, August 26

There will be a football parents' meeting on Tuesday, August 26 at 5:00 in the gym at MJH. The meeting should last approximately 30 minutes. Parents will be introduced to their child's position coach and practice schedules will be discussed. If there are any issues or concerns that parents may have, they can be discussed at the meeting.

Mark your calendar and plan to attend Meet the Teacher at Montgomery Junior High on Tuesday, September 9 from 6-8pm.
