Week of September 2-8 @ MJH

Hopefully everyone is getting into their routine after the first week of school.  Thank you to all of the teachers and staff for a great start at Montgomery Junior High!  As a member of the MJH PTO, you will receive weekly e-blasts with information regarding what's going on at the junior high, upcoming events, scores from the games, etc.  If you have friends who are not receiving the e-blasts, please remind them to join MJH PTO.  An e-blast will go out weekly to all PTO members.  If you have information that you would like included in the e-blast, please contact me at nunnmama@gmail.com.

Thank you, thank you, THANK YOU to the many parents who helped out or sent in items for the Back to School Teacher Breakfast.  We had a great response from you and the breakfast was greatly appreciated by the teachers and staff at MJH!  Also, a big thanks to those who volunteered to help out in handing out student schedules on the first day of school.  We appreciate your help in fulfilling our volunteer needs.  Throughout the year we will send out emails looking for volunteers to help out or to send something to school.  Thank you in advance for supporting MJH.  We know everyone is busy (some more than others), so we appreciate any help we can get.  If you know that you'd like to volunteer this year, please contact us at mjhptomailbox@gmail.com

Meet the Teacher - Sept 6
Meet the Teacher at Montgomery Junior is Thursday, September 6 from 6-8pm.  Report to your student's first period class promptly at 6pm.  This night is for parents and students are not required nor encouraged to attend.   Meet the Teacher letters were handed out yesterday during 7th period to the students. If the letter did not make it home, click here for a copy of the letter that parents can use that evening by filling out their student's schedule.  Spirit wear will also be available for purchase at Meet the Teacher.  If you know someone who has not signed up for PTO, September 6 is a great time to sign up.

PTO Meetings
Our first PTO Meeting at Montgomery Junior High will be held on Thursday, September 13 at 8:45am.  Please join us to learn more about MJH and the events and activities scheduled for the school year.  It's a great way to stay in touch!  We are so excited to have so many members in our MJH PTO.  Hope to see you there!

Montgomery Bears
The first high school varsity Montgomery Bears home game is Friday, August 31 (7:30pm) at Bear Stadium.  Go Bears!!!  Click here for a copy of the high school football schedule. 

Junior High football games begin with a scrimmage on Wednesday, September 12.  The first game of the season is scheduled for Monday, September 17.  Click here for a copy of the junior high football schedule.

Girls Volleyball tryouts have taken place throughout the first week of school and will finish up on September 5th.  Our 8th grade A&B volleyball teams will play at Willis High School on September 7&8.  Good luck girls!!!  Click here for a copy of the junior high volleyball schedule.

Thank you to those who have already offered to help out at Montgomery Junior on Monday morning.  We are still looking for just THREE MORE VOLUNTEERS to make distributing schedules run smoothly.

On the first day of school all students will be directed to the cafeteria to pick up their "official schedule" which they will need for class Monday morning.  Students were issued a schedule of their classes this summer, but it is necessary that all students pick up their "official schedule" on the first day of school to take with them to class.  Montgomery Junior High is looking for a few volunteers to help hand out schedules to students from 6:30-7:30 a.m. on Monday morning.  If you are able to help, please contact us right away at mjhptomailbox@gmail.com .  We appreciate you!

First Day of School at MJH

Just a few more days of summer vacation, then back to the days of getting up early and being on a schedule.  Some of you may be ready, some not so much...whatever the case, the first day of school is here!  It's going to be a great year at MJH!

The first bell rings at Montgomery Junior High at 7:15 a.m. for students to enter the classrooms.  The tardy bell will follow at 7:20.  Students are dismissed from school at 2:35 pm.

Don't forget MEET THE TEACHER at MJH on Thursday, September 6th.  All parents are invited and encouraged to attend.  All attendees will follow their student's abbreviated schedule beginning with the first period tardy bell ringing at 6:00 pm.  Please don't be late!

Back To School Teacher Breakfast

We hope everyone has had a wonderful summer.  I can't believe that this time next week our kids will be back in school.  With that being said, we need your help. Every year we do a back to school breakfast for our Junior High teachers. If everyone pitches in it will be a great success.  We have some spots open for people to help out with food.

We will be expecting about 115 faculty and staff and would like the following items:

Orange Juice, Apple Juice, Any other Juices
Breakfast casseroles
Fruit
Bagels
Cream Cheese
Kolaches
Muffins
Breakfast Pastries

We would like to thanks those that signed up at schedule pick-up:
Lisa Williams- 4 dozen donuts and 4 dozen kolaches
Andrea Fahrenthold- 2 dozen donuts
Also, Bettina Gese and Shelli Hales offered to bring whatever was needed.
