Teacher Christmas Luncheon & Cookie Walk
MJH PTO hosted the annual Teacher Holiday Luncheon & Cookie Walk on Thursday, December 6th. We appreciate the many fantastic holiday treats that parents sent in and shared with our teachers. A big thank you goes out to Rick Adams at Walden Yacht Club for a delicious meal provided for our Teacher Holiday Luncheon at MJH. Thank you to Teresa Neel for doing a great job coordinating our luncheon and to the volunteers who were there to help on Thursday.Montgomery Historical Society Cookie Walk
It’s that time of year for the annual Christmas in Montgomery and the Montgomery Historical Society Cookie Walk fundraiser. The 21st annual Cookie Walk and the 35th Candlelight Home Tour will take place on Saturday, December 8th. Breakfast with Santa begins at 8am and the Christmas Parade starts at 11am. The Cookie Walk will open at 12 noon. The Historic Home Tour is from 4-8pm. The parents and students in Montgomery ISD are the event’s biggest supporters. MJH Bears Boys Basketball
7th Grade Basketball: The Montgomery Bears Boys 7th Grade basketball team traveled to Waller this week to face off against the Schultz Bulldogs. The Purple Team set the tone early playing tough defense. The Bears won 17-1. The Gold Team dominated as well, scoring at will. The Bears won 51-19. Good luck to the Gold Team in your tournament this weekend in Huntsville.8th Grade Basketball: The Montgomery Bears 8th grade Purple Basketball Team defeated Waller Schultz 26-12 this week. Teddy Sherrill led the Bears in scoring with 6 points. Ben Sherrill and Jake Villarrubia netted 5 points each. Drew Smith and Blake Hudgens drained 3 points each. Brandon Serrano and Michael St. Kelly rounded out the scoring for the Bears with 2 points each. The Montgomery Bears 8th grade Gold Basketball Team defeated Waller Schultz 53-18. Kevon Hill led the Bears in scoring with 10 points. Jeremiah Smith netted 9 points. Mateo Suniga and Adam Sherrill each poured in 8 points. Chad Phillip scored 6 points. Taylor Thomas and Josh Pruett netted 2 points each. Congratulations to both the 8th grade Purple and Gold Teams on their victories from Coach Washington, Payne, and Straughter.
MJH Lady Bears Girls Basketball
7th grade A team: The Lady Bear 7th grade A team played well last night against Waller Schultz. The game was a battle from the beginning but the Lady bears played well to defend their court. The girls fought hard every minute to clench their win! Tonight the 7th grade A team kicks off their home tournament at 5:00pm against Splendora. Come out and support your girls!7th grade B-Team: Last night, our lady bear 7th grade B team took the court against Waller Schultz. The girls played hard the entire game, giving up only 8 points. Each girl contributed greatly to the team’s success. The Lady Bear’s finished the game with a 41-8 win! Great job last night girls!
8th grade A-Team: The Lady Bear 8th grade A team took the court last night against Schultz. Coming out slow in the first quarter and then finally turning it on in the 2nd, we finished with a final score of 47-10. Well done girls, lets continue the momentum into this weekend for our home tournament and get a trophy!
8th grade B-Team: Last night the Lady Bear 8th grade B team dominated Schultz in a 32-1 victory. It was a great defensive performance and the ladies only gave up 1 point due to a free throw. Offensively the ladies started out slow but came out to play and busted the game wide open! Great job and good luck this Tuesday against McCullough Junior High!
8th grade C-Team: Last night the Lady Bear 8th grade C team took down Schultz easily 20-2 with a a strong defense and strong shooting. Great job last night ladies!
