Decorations for the dance: Thank
you to those who have been helping to plan, prepare decorations and
providing items for our "Neon Night to Remember" dance. If you have
offered to bring items and have not delivered them to the school, please
do so on Monday. We are still in need of additional upright floor
lamps that hold multiple bulbs. We'd
like to replace the bulbs with blacklight bulbs, so those would be
greatly appreciated as well. If you have any questions regarding
decorations for the dance, please email Hazel Ellis at hzlellis09@yahoo.com.
MJH Fall Dance: The PTO will sponsor the Junior High Dance on Friday, October 26 from 7-9pm. Our theme is "A Neon Night to Remember", and all 7th and 8th graders are invited to attend. If you are interested in volunteering to help with ticket sales, decorations, setup, cleanup, refreshments, or chaperoning, please contact Stacie McBride at staciemcbride@gmail.com.

7th grade Purple B vs Magnolia JH (0-6 loss)
7th grade Gold A vs Bear Branch (19-19 tie)
7th grade Gold B vs Bear Branch (13-0 loss)

8th grade Purple B vs Magnolia JH (26-12 loss)
8th grade Gold A vs Bear Branch (0-0 tie)
8th grade Gold B vs Bear Branch (18-0 win)
7th Grade Purple Football: The 7th
grade Purple football team traveled to Magnolia JH this week to face the
Bulldogs. The Purple A-Team played tough
on defense all night and were able to rally with a come from behind victory,
winning 7-6. The Purple B-Team had
opportunities to score but could not get the ball in the end zone, losing 6-0. Great job Bears and good luck next week
against Willow Wood.
7th Grade Gold
Football: The 7th grade Gold A-Team
played a very good Bear Branch team and ended with a 19-19 tie. There were many highlights in the game. Jordan Hod threw a 50 yard touchdown to
Austin Pritchett and two touchdowns to Jake Prigmore. Hood also connected with Ryan Brock on an
extra point for the tie. With 30 seconds
left in the game, Brock Nickerson intercepted a pass to insure the tie. Great job!!! The 7th Grade Gold B-Team lost
13-0 this week to Magnolia Bear Branch. The Bears defensive unit played solid,
but the offensive unit just could not get on track last night.
8th Grade Purple Football: The 8th
grade Purple teams traveled to Magnolia Junior High this week. The first half
of the Purple A-Team game was truly a battle, with the Bears trailing at the
half 7-0. The Bears fought hard the second half but could not overcome the
weather. The Bears lost 21-0. The 8th
grade Purple B-Team fought hard all night long. The Bears went into halftime
trailing Magnolia 12-13, and the battle would continue all night.
Unfortunately, the Bears came up short losing to Magnolia 12-26. Good Job Bears
from all the coaches. Please come out
and support your team as we face the Willow Wood on Tuesday, October 23rd in
Willow Wood.
8th Grade Gold Football: The 8th grade
Gold teams were at home Tuesday to take on the Bears from Bear Branch Jr.
High School. The Gold
Team A-Team game was a long, rainy game but it must have seemed even longer for
the Bear Branch offense as the Bears’ defense shut them down all night. Some
stand outs on defense were Nick Beazley, DylanWright, O'Brien Williams, Chad
Phillips, Waverly Hampton, Drew Smith and Tim Poldo. The Bears offense took
care of the ball all night and played hard until the very end but the game
would end in a tie 0-0. This game was a great game by your Bears as Bear Branch
had not lost a game all year. The Gold B-Team started the night off with a
bang. The Bears ran all over the defense all night long. Carson DeCoster and
Hunter Grimmett ran for over 200 yards for the night as the Bears beat Bear
Branch 18-0. Great job to both Gold teams from the coaches.
Volleyball Highlights
7th Grade Volleyball:
The Lady Bear 7th grade A-Team took down Waller in two quick
games last night. What a great way to
end the season. Coach Price really
enjoyed coaching this wonderful group of girls!
Way to go on a good season:
Sophia Franke, Reagan Pustka, Mackenzi Masich, Kennadie Cochran, Mamie
Gray, Hannah Anderson, Payden Montgomery, Tori Meador, Micalyn Ely, Alexa
VonGontard, and Kelsey Elliott. The 7th grade Lady Bear B-Team took down Waller
in two quick games last night. They
played well and ended the season with a 10-3 record! Great job on a great season to these girls: Kinsey Shanks, Arianna Pinon, Mikayla Martin,
Brooklyn Myers, Kiera Wheeler, Mallory Talbert, Olivia Neal, Skyler Teague,
Charlotte Merdian, Savannah Wendt, Leigh Freeman, and Payton Morel. The 7th
grade C-Team had a wonderful season.
They won every game. Success is
not always measured by wins and losses, but by how we play the game, through
sportsmanship, teamwork and attitude.
These girls displayed all of the above:
Alyssa Preuss, Hope VanHaverbeke, Kaylee Scott, Caroline Hall, Leah
Perry, Bailee Gatewood, Julia Smith, Christina Cane, Isabella Ling, Emilee
Derossett, Madison Allbright, Hope Change, Lauren Olivero, Chloe Patterson, and
Tori Poldo.
8th Grade
Volleyball: Last night, our Lady Bear 8th grade A-Team took the court
against the Waller Lady Bulldogs. The girls played great and gave up very few
points, winning the match 25-14 and 25-11. We had solid serves from Maggie
Page, Narissa Collier, and Brittany Oldner. Our defense was spot on from Grace
Bache and Addison Barron. Dani St. Pe and Brittany Gilliam contributed greatly
to the success of our offense. Lauren Endres and Sierra Travis played the net
well and let very little get past their block! Way to finish the season with a
win! Coach Reed is very proud of every
one of you! The 8th grade B-Team took the volleyball court last night hoping to finish the season with a victory. A victory is exactly what they fought for. Winning the first game 25-18 we had Brooke Turley, Abby Young, Mackenzie Coleman, Lauren Perry, Allie Spitalerie, and Clarianne Aguilar. To finish off the Bulldogs in game two, winning 25-10 we had Baily Kieselhorst, Marli Lemons, Aliyah Ditta, Taylor Skinner, Sierra Seale, and Felicity Collier. What an awesome season girls! Finished with a final record of 9-4. Proud of how far you have come!! The Lady Bears 8th Grade C-Team took the court last night against Waller. Looking to end the season on a high note and that is exactly what they did. Taking the Bulldogs to 3 games and defeating them. We had awesome serving from Chayse Pyle, Maddy Kaldenburg, Abbie Weldon, and Nicollette Thomson. Great defense by Maddie Robb, Danielle Rainwater, Rubi Alverado, and chloe keating. Great offense from Mandy Axelrod, Schae Nelson, Haley Ferrell, and Cameron Gourle. Great season ladies, finishing with a final record of 3-1.
