Teacher Birthdays:  Next month's November Teacher Birthday celebration will take place on November 8, 2012 and will be dessert items only.  The turnout for October was great so let's keep up the momentum for November and December.  Email Sabrina Flowers at breenaboo@yahoo.com with what you will be bringing and please make sure it is at least 20 servings.  Items need to be there no later than the start of the PTO meeting (8:45am).

MJH Book Fair

The Book Fair took place this week in the library.  Click here to SHOP ONLINE until November 3rd. There is a much bigger selection of books online than what is offered during the fair in the library. Thanks for taking a look and helping support our library!  If you request to have the books shipped to MJH, then the shipping is free.  When the books arrive, they will be sent home with students.  They should arrive before Thanksgiving break!

Candle Fundraiser Pick-Up

The Candle Fundraiser Item Pickup will be available after 12 noon on Wednesday, October 31.

7th Grade Purple Football: The 7th grade Purple A-Team hosted the Willow Wood Wildkats this week and were defeated 20-6.  The Bears scored their touchdown on a 60 yard pass from Caleb Campbell to Juwan Raglin.  The Purple B-Team won 12-6.  The7th grade Purple team will host Waller Schultz next Monday.
7th Grade Gold Football:  The 7th  grade Gold A-Team defeated Magnolia Jr High 25-6.  Jordan Hood threw a 40 yard touchdown to Jake Prigmore and a 10 yard TD to Trysten Gese.  Trayveon Franklin ran for two long touchdowns and Ben Sheilds added an extra point.  The defense played great.  Jody Miller snagged an interception to seal the win.  Great job.  The 7th grade Gold B-Team defeated Magnolia this week 14-13 in a hard fought come from behind victory.  Trailing 13-0 after the first half, Hayden Sutherland connected to Patrick Locke for the touchdown, then carried for the P.A.T.  With 1:42 left to play, Baylen Mills connected with Caleb Youngblood to tie the game, then carried for the winning P.A.T.  Strong defensive play, led by Mills and Locke helped the Bears to the win.  Good job Bears!
8th Grade Purple Football:  The 8th grade Purple A-Team traveled to Willow Wood Jr High this week.  The first half of the game was a defensive battle with the Bears traveling at the half 7-12, with Ricky Queen scoring our TD and Michael St. Kelly completing our extra point.  The defense played hard but could not hold off Willow Wood.  The final score of the game was 7-20.  The Purple B-Team offense played very well this week against Willow Wood.  Shawn Bolt scored 2 touchdowns and Peter Williams scored another touchdown, defeating Willow Wood 18-12.  The defense also played well with Eugene Reyes intercepting the ball in less than a minute to go in the game, securing the win for the Bears. Good job Bears from all the coaches.  The 8th grade Purple Team will travel to Waller Schultz next week.  Please come out and support your team.
8th Grade Gold Football: The 8th grade Gold Team was at home this week to take on the Bulldogs from Magnolia Jr High.  For the 8th grade Gold A-Team, just like in past years, this game would be close for all four quarters.  The Bears started the game on offense and wasted no time as they drove the ball down the field and scored to take the lead 6-0.  The Bears defense played hard and fast all night.  The Bulldogs scored on their second possession to make it 6-6, but our offense answered right back as the Bears took the ball right back down the field and scored to make it 14-6.  The Bulldogs would score again to make it 14-14 at the half.  The second half would be no different as both teams played hard.  But with 3:00 left in the game, the Bulldogs scored to make it 20-14 and that would be it as the Bears fell short in the end.  The Bears Gold B-Team offense would move the ball all night on the Bulldogs.  The Bears defense played hard and fought all night but could not pull it out in the end as they fell to the Bulldogs 26-0.  Great job!
